About Us
Welcome to the Haflinger Club of Australia. We are perfectly ‘un-official’ as our club has no formal membership structure, fees, office bearers or committees, just a group of Haflinger and Steyr-Puch enthusiasts who wish to share their interest with like-minded souls. Whilst the marque is best represented by the Haflinger in Australia, we also wish to welcome enthusiasts of other Steyr-Puch vehicles including Pinzgauer, Puch scooters, mopeds and motorcycles, and even Steyr tractors.
So 2, 4 and 6 wheelers! We could call it the Steyr Puch Club of Australia, but that dosnt easily roll off the Aussie tongue.
This site is primarily about the conservation of the Steyr-Puch marque in Australia. This means inspiring and assisting owners to conserve or restore our vehicles by sharing information and experiences. This may then allow us to enjoy our vehicles by getting together occasionally, perhaps through a Treffen. The former Haflinger Club of Australia, which folded in the late 1980s, was primarily concerned with the enjoyment of their road-worthy vehicles. Sadly today, there are very few road-worthy and registered vehicles, and so a fundamental aim of this new club is to foster a return to a roadworthy state.
Our Featured section is where members can show off a restoration project, write a historical piece or review an event. Perhaps you know an old-timer with stories that should be written down. Magazine-style contributions are eagerly sought.
Our News window will have brief items or alerts that may be of interest to members. This may be events, vehicles spotted for sale, or other. Contributions always welcome.
An important section of this site is the Resources page, where you will find links to parts suppliers, sites dealing with the history and technical detail, other clubs, and downloads.
The Registry page will be an on-going project where owners can provide details of their vehicles. This will become an important historic resource as it grows. We would encourage all owners to participate in the registry by providing chassis and engine numbers, year and type and some comments with a photo that we can list.

The Forum tab will directly link to thehaflinger.com, a global forum partner that will allow members to share information to assist with restoration, but also to arrange informal get-togethers to enjoy their roadworthy vehicles to the full. This forum is be run and moderated by volunteers, and is a separate and un-related entity to this website.
Membership of our club is informal, simply email us to be included on our contact list. We may from time to time email you with announcements etc. This website and forum is managed by Rick Krassoi and Markus Truninger, respectively. Rick is has ‘a few’ Haflingers and Puch scooters, and Markus has completed the restoration of an ex-Australian Army Haflinger.
